My granny blanket....at last

The Granny Blanket I have been working on for a few years is finally finished - I am so pleased with how it turned out so here is the 225 squares all joined together and edged!!!!

I have some squares left over so have joined them ready for making another blanket... just need a few more squares to make it large enough to call a blanket!

Charity blankets

Last year I spent a lot of time during the summer knitting squares for charity blanket and then my mum has crocheting around them and joined them into blankets for charity via Inner Wheel (the club of Northampton). The 2 she has made up so far are pictured below..

my yarn creations

Lately I have been knitting and trying to crochet. I say trying to crochet - I am a dab hand at granny squares but have never mastered doing anything other than the granny square but now I am trying to follow patterns and creat other patterns - ok still square shapes but what other shapes are there for sample swatches??? I am have decided to gradually work my way through the book 200 crochet blocks for blankets, throws and afghans by Jan eaton. I am starting with the easiest squares donated with 1 crochet hook and working my way up to the more difficult

another cupcake class

I went on another cupcake decorating class today and it was brilliant - my results weren't but I am pleased with what I did achieve! There is a fab company in the Milton Keynes area called Mum's who bake who do some fantastic classes and todays was to decorate cupcakes to make them look like flower heads
